Google is officially bringing to the table the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow first to its line of devices. The lucky ones include its 2015 flagship smartphones, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, Nexus 5 (2013), Nexus 6 (2014), Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 9 (2014). According to a report, the update is also available to Nexus Player. The first ever update of the Marshmallow build brings in fixes to LTE support, Do Not Disturb option and the emoji collection.

A report from Gotta Be Mobile stressed out that the Android update focuses on areas such as the battery, connectivity, emoji, app behavior and user interface speed.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow build has been officially released, promising improvements on stability and performance aside from a host of bug fixes. Specifically, the new build update features a quick camera launch, comeback of the Do Not Disturb option, new location to the left side for the home and back buttons, new location to the right side for the overview button, a new navigation bar for tablets and the new and expanded emoji collection which now has over 200 counts.

The update set of emoji has ben hugely lauded in the mobile tech industry for its variety and functionality. The Marshmallow update also includes support to LTE Band 12 for theT-Mobile versions of Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is still available to Nexus owners, but Google assured fans that it would come soon to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMS) such as Samsung, Motorola, Sony, Lenovo, HTC, Huawei, Xiaomi and Asus, among others. For now, most of their devices have yet to be updated to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

By far, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is performing at an impressive level on versions of Nexus 5. There are no reports yet on how it is doing with the other devices.
