T-Mobile is slated to release the official over-the-air (OTA) Android 6.0 Marshmallow software to 13 more priority smartphones and tablets in the first quarter of 2016, as four devices have already been updated. The priority list includes the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and LG G4, among others.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade is coming very soon to a bunch of handset devices of mobile carrier, T-Mobile. Devices include the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab S2; LG G4, G3 and G Stylo; and HTC One M9 and One M8.
As of the moment, these smartphones and tablets are still under the manufacturer development stage wherein the telecom company has come to terms with the South Korean giant to back the biggest upgrade in Android history. After this process, T-Mobile will proceed to the testing stage wherein the mobile carrier will incorporate its own software update with Google's new build. In this stage, the devices will also undergo a certification process from T-Mobile to guarantee Marshmallow's finest software experience. This is expected to be finished in two weeks.
The official release will come if the performance evaluation of the new build is conducted successfully. However, the release date will only begin per carrier's discretion and the device's location. According to recent reports, official release date of T-Mobile might begin as soon as January 2016.
Meanwhile, the magenta carrier has already rolled out the same update to Google Nexus 5 (2015), Nexus 6 (2014), Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 9 (2014).
The Marshmallow software brings a bunch of new features and enhancements in apps, battery, security, and so many more. Among its most notable improvements are the app backup and restore, Google Now on Tap, and Doze.
Marshmallow by far has drawn out positive reviews from he Android community for its comprehensive upgrade.
