After days of multinational search efforts for the missing flight MH370 of the Malaysia Airlines, no results have surfaced. There were more than 20 countries involved in the search, hoping to draw faster answers. Among these countries is the United States that has stretched a helping hand from intelligence reports to aircrafts and ships.
The Pentagon said it has already spent USD2.5 million to help look for the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner, reported NDTV. According to the US Defense Department, it has been sending high tech surveillance planes to assist the operation. The multimillion spending include operation costs for ships and aircrafts looking for the missing flight MH370 across the South China Sea and into the Indian Ocean.
Among the US aircrafts sent to look for flight MH370 is the Navy P-8 Poseidon. The plane has been searching the Indian Ocean hoping to find leads on the missing Malaysia Airlines jet after satellite image from Australian authorities were released claiming possible debris from the missing airplane. The P-3 Orion did not join the search today but has been expected to rejoin the efforts tomorrow.
A representative from the Pentagon said that an allocated budget was released amounting USD4 million for the search of the missing flight MH370 and would last until early April, depending on the number of flying hours and other necessary equipment.
