Lebron James Free Agency Predictions: Why LeBron James will chose the Cavs over the Heat

By

When LeBron James decided to become a free agent and test the free agency waters, his agent, Rich Paul, met with the Lakers, Cavaliers, Rockets, Suns and Mavericks to entertain their pitches. It seems, however, that LeBron has narrowed down his options into two: Cleveland and Miami.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports mentioned on Fox Sports Live about LeBron and his free agency options:

"By every source I have, there are just two considerations at this point - and that's Cleveland and staying in Miami."

Last week only a handful of people would even think that LeBron would bolt out from Miami much less chose Cleveland. This week, however, opinions around the league have began to shift as more and more are beginning to think that LeBron is looking towards a reunion with his home team Cleveland.

Chris Broussard suddenly shifted his view - on whose the frontrunner on the LeBron sweepstakes - from Miami to Cleveland after speaking to sources while Chris Sheridan of SheridanHoops.com even went as far as saying that there is a "90 percent chance" that James returns to Cleveland to play with the Cavs and that an announcement plan is already in motion.

But why would LeBron choose Cleveland anyway? The answer lies in the Cavs impressive display of young talent in virtually every position. While James reunion with Cleveland at this time last year would have been far from the realms of possibility, Wade's declining health and the Cavs drafting of No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins could perhaps be the reasons why the outcome may be be different this year.

The Cavs can provide James with a young point guard in Kyrie Irving who is already an All-Star, the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft in Andrew Wiggins, and other young talents in Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters, and Tyler Zeller. With the Heat, he had to carry a heavy load every game - doing virtually everything from scoring, rebounding, dictating the offense, to locking down on the opponents best player - due to Wade's declining health and the Heat's lack of a true big man and point guard.

With Cleveland, he does not have take charge in the flow of the offense because the team has a true point guard in Kyrie Irving, does not have to rebound that much because of Varejao, Thompson, and Zeller, and does not have to score in tons to win because Cleveland has a lot of scorers and shooters. LeBron can still be LeBron in the Cavs but minus the overburden and workhorse role that he had to do with the Heat especially in the finals. On top of that, he has a chance to play in his hometown state
