The synopsis for the premiere episode of "Revenge" season 4 is out. The episode, entitled "Renaissance," will feature the return of David Clarke, Emily Thorne busy with a surprise party, and Victoria Grayson turns a setback to an advantage.
According to Ksite TV, "Revenge" will be back for its fourth season on September 28, but for now, fans are teased by an official synopsis of the first episode. The synopsis reads: "As Emily plans to host her most surprising party ever, Victoria finds a way to turn her greatest setback into a dangerous advantage. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them both, David Clarke plans his next move."
Carter Matt shares that the David Clarke storyline will not easily make sense, as the writers are allegedly aiming for a "slow burn." Show producer Aaron Harberts dished that the two women will be aiming to get to Clarke first to secure his support and make him turn on the other, reports Christian Today.
Meanwhile, Grayson could also be headed for revenge in the same way that Thorne has done in the first three seasons. A promotional video featuring Grayson laying blame on Thorne for everything seem to support the claim. Fashion & Style notes that Grayson's soliloquy has her wanting Thorne to pay.
Aside from the synopsis, ABC has also released a promotional image featuring the "prickly business" laid out for Thorne and Grayson. According to Unreality TV, "The new artwork shows Emily and Victoria take centre stage in dresses made of thorns, Emily in black and Victoria in red, with a red sky behind them." The article also notes of the "mischievous look in their eyes." Another promotional poster sans the two and only featuring a red sky with the words "what goes around comes around" has also been released.
The show, which started in 2011, has been gaining strength, says Unreality TV. Only this week, Marvel Comics released a novel based off the show featuring the origin of Thorne. The novel also explains Thorne's motivations to become what she is today.
When season four returns, James Tupper, who plays David Clarke, and Karine Vanasse, who plays Margaux LeMarchal, will both be returning as season regulars, reports Unreality TV. Brian Hallisay will also be joining the cast as Jack's childhood friend with post-traumatic stress disorder. Edward Alvarez is another cast addition with his police character being Grayson's ally.
