"Pretty Little Liars" will have a different attack on their Halloween episode this year, but will make up for it with a Christmas special.
"Pretty Little Liars" will be returning for its Halloween episode on October 21. However, Fashion & Style reports that the Halloween costumes and the plot made "extra-creepy" will not be seen this year. Marlene King has allegedly promised to "shake things up," which in this instance comes in the form of an appreciation episode.
Fashion & Style reveals that the one-hour special will be featuring clips from the past four years of the show and an interview with the cast and crew. As confirmed on ABC Family's Twitter post, Ryan Merriman, Bryce Johnson, and Bianca Lawson will be joining the episode with Parrish in what she describes to TV Fanatic as a "fan love letter."
Though Wet Paint thinks that the episode that's part of ABC's "13 Nights of Halloween" lineup will not provide real answers, the site is expecting the episode to be fun and offer reflections from the past seasons.
The interviews with the cast could give some insight on what direction the show will be heading. Janel Parrish has already expressed her opinion that Alison (Sasha Pieterse) could have had a hand in Mona's death, a scene that has not been shown in the show yet, says Enstarz. Knowing the speculations of the other actors might prove to be fun for theorizing.
Though Parrish's character has supposedly been killed, the actor has confirmed she will not be leaving the show just yet. Parrish will be joining the unfolding events through flashbacks, including one in the upcoming Christmas special entitled "How the 'A' Stole Christmas."
Also according to Enstarz, Mona's (Janel Parrish) death may hold the clue to "A's" identity. Parrish herself shared in an interview with TV Guide that Mona's flashbacks will give answers. "I'm hoping the flashbacks will take people on a journey into Mona world and that you'll see all the things she's been doing. It's going to be insightful," the star detailed.
Many are still wondering if Mona has faked her death, and Wet Paint lays down some facts that might prove that. According to the article, Mona convinced Alison to fake her death and that "Ali may have returned the favor when Mona needed it." The article also talks of an alleged meeting between Mona and Alison in season 5, episode 3.
