Jamie and Claire's wedding of necessity is happening on "Outlander" episode 7, and the consummation that follows will be pleasing to watch.
Episode 7 is aptly titled "The Wedding," which almost gives no doubt that the ceremony will happen. Some think that Claire will leave Jamie at the altar, but the trailer for the episode shows the two reciting the blood vow that is described in the books, says Fashion & Style.
However, the wedding of the two does not end at the ceremony, as the contract needs to be made legally binding. According to Fashion & Style, the consummation that follows is important, and Dougal will make sure that it happens to "make sure that Claire is entirely Scots now and they don't want to give Black Jack Randall any cause to dispute the marriage."
According to Zap2It, Randall wants Claire brought to him for further questioning, and the solution Dougal has come up with is to wed Claire to a Scot. IB Times also shares: "She has to marry Jamie so that Capt. Black Jack Randall can't legally force her to come back to England, but she is still married to Frank in the 1940s." Despite this, the article says that Claire doesn't seem to mind the marriage.
As for the groom, Jamie reportedly shows a softer side in episode 7, as he wonders if his late mother would have approved of Claire, adds IB Times.
After the wedding, the trailer has the newly married couple in a "quick look" at the consummation, with Fashion & Style describing the two slowly undressing each other. Though the episode is yet to air on Saturday, actor Sam Heughan has hinted at a good scene, saying that he "had a good time" filming. Heughan also described the sex scenes as "pretty hot."
Carter Matt reveals that "The Wedding" will be the second to the last episode for the summer. The series is already confirmed for a second season.
"The Wedding" will air on Saturday, September 20, at 9 p.m. EDT on Starz.
