From a five-year relationship to filing a restraining order, Sarah Hyland sure had her relationship go full circle.
The Modern Family star who plays Haley Dunphy on hit series "Modern Family" cut of all ties with boyfriend for five years, Matt Prokop last August. And the break up was far from being pretty.
Hyland, 23, reportedly filed a restraining order against her ex on September 21 after Prokop allegedly pinned her against a car and called her names while attempting to strangle her. CNN.com (via TMZ) revealed quotes from the legal document which said, "His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life."
Additionally, the Inquistr reports that Prokop threw a lighter at the actress after she broke up with him. Sarah's Modern Family co-star Julie Bowen, who was present during that time, even had to step in to stop things from escalating.
The actress also shared in her affidavit together with her request that Prokop flooded her with "threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats."
Yikes.
Furthermore, Hollywoodlife spills that Matt already went to seek help from rehab for marijuana and alcohol abuse. The reporter of the facility, however, have personally called Sarah to advise her to file a restraining order.
Attorney Lee A. Sherman have advised Sarah not to comment anymore on the matter out of respect for the court and all parties involved. Prokop's representatives, on the other hand, are yet to give their side of the story.
The two supposedly starting dating after they met at an audition for Disney Channel's High School Musical 3: Senior Year back in 2009. They lived together from 2011 until their split last August.
Amidst all these, a source close to the actress said that it will probably take a while before she is ready to date again. The insider further shared that Sarah is presently focusing on work but that she will bounce back in no time.
"She's a strong girl. I have no doubt she will bounce back from this. She's been through a lot in her life, but she's still an amazing and strong person." (via Us Weekly)
