‘Avenger: Age of Ultron ’ News: Ending will involve “death, death, and death;” Who among the earth’s mightiest heroes will die?

A number of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" plot rumors are currently doing the rounds online, leaving fans with different speculations on what to expect in the upcoming movie.

Plot speculations mainly arise from Director Joss Whedon's revelation that the movie's ending will involve "Death, death, and death."

Comic Book Movie speculated that Whedon will be writing off major characters, which is not really a surprise, knowing that the director is nickname "TV's grim reaper."

Previously released promotional photos reveal a battle-damaged shield of Captain America. Comic-Con 2014 attendees also saw a display of the cracked shield during the event. This went with rumors that the superhero is retiring after the upcoming sequel. Others speculate that Cap a.k.a. Steve Rogers will be passing the shield, which represents his superhero responsibilities, to Bucky or Falcon.

Regarding the broken shield teaser, Moviepilot said, "There is nothing ominous about that, were it not for one key factor - the near indestructible shield was broken, cracked into pieces."

Another article by Comic Book Movie mentioned about the possibility of Captain America being killed off and speculated how the "Civil War" theme could be placed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to the website, "many people believe that this is a sign that Cap will get killed off. I don't believe they're going to kill off the Steve Rogers character. Plus, making Bucky Cap and having him go against Thanos doesn't have the same weight to it."

"However, I believe Civil War can be done in shades. Hell, it doesn't even require its own film. You can take the basic concept of 'Civil War' and plant the seeds between Steve and Tony at the end of "Age of Ultron," and have Cap in his third outing not only search for Bucky and finish off Hydra."

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, already revealed that he is exiting the Marvel franchise saying Iron Man 4 "is not in the pipeline." This was interpreted as "Avengers 2" being his last Marvel movie.

Moreover, Whedon teased fans about a battle between Iron Man and another avenger, Hulk. Inquisitr theorized that Tony Stark's death "is not that unlikely" noting that it was already revealed that the Hulkbuster armor would make its debut in 'Age of Ultron'."

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is scheduled to premiere on May 1, 2015.
