Is Amanda Bynes hiding behind Twitter persona "Ashley Barks"? How netizens uncovered Bynes' "secret" Twitter account

By

Amanda Bynes seems to have abandoned her confirmed Twitter account in favor of a "secret" one, though the account has garnered attention because of its response to Bynes-related posts and using the first person to answer them.

Amanda Bynes has a confirmed Twitter account with the handle @amandabynes, but this is not where the actor's activities seem to be coming from. According to Gawker, the account with the handle @PersianLa27 is allegedly Bynes' "secret" account. The handle @PersianLa27 lists her name as Ashley Barks, and while Bynes has apparently denied the existence of a secret account back in March, the article says that "Ashley" remains invested in the star's life.

The Gawker's assumption that Bynes is using the fake account is because of "Ashley" being "extremely similar" to Bynes. The account allegedly calls people "ugly" in the same Bynes fashion. Moreover, "Ashley" also posts Aries horoscopes and said that she is a fashion designer.

Speculations that "Ashley," whose name now says "Amanda," is indeed Bynes is fueled by the account user answering a tweet about Bynes in the first person. "I NEVER COMMITTED ANY CRIMES, TRANNY!" the account replied on Twitter to @WendyWilliams after insinuating that Bynes has been kicked out of fashion school. This is in relation to Bynes allegedly being kicked out of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising because of cheating on a test, poor attendance, and paying students for her homework. "Ashley also wrote on a tweet that she doesn't abuse drugs. "I'm not crazy. I never quit school. Apparently its illegal to take scripts from your OWN doctor," the tweet read.

People relays that Bynes has allegedly been going to Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising for the past six months.

Despite the similarities, it remains unconfirmed if Bynes is indeed behind "Ashley's" Twitter. However, if the user is not the Nickelodeon star herself, she could be "at least an obsessed imposter with an 'Amanda Bynes' Google alert."

According to Refinery 29, Bynes has been active on Twitter to comment on and refute issues about her when she was in "tumultuous times." Inquisitr relays that on 2013, Bynes was arrested for throwing a bong outside her apartment in New York City and has been revealed in possession of marijuana. Throughout this time, Bynes "documented her erratic behavior".

Bynes came back to the headlines this week after being arrested for DIU, shares People.
