"Transformers 5" Rumored Plot Details: Maximals, Predacons, and Liam Neeson as a Transformer?

By

So what is "Transformers 5" going to be about, anyway?

We certainly know a ton about what's going on behind the scenes of the fifth film in Hasbro's giant-size robot franchise. MIchael Bay is leaving to direct other things. Mark Wahlberg is likely going with him. And Megan Fox has talked about coming back, but only if her former co-star Shia LaBeouf returns with her (let's be honest here- anyone who knows how insane Shia LaBeouf has been acting lately knows that's not a possibility).

That much we know. What's less obvious is the actual story that Optimus Prime and his Autobot companions will follow.

One recent rumor from Yahoo! News claims that "Transformers 5" will follow the exploits of the Maximals and the Predacons. For those not versed in "Transformers" lore, these would be similar to the Dinobots in this summer's "Transformers: Age of Extinction," only instead of transforming into dinosaurs, they transform into regular old animals. Mammals and birds, typically, for the Maximals; reptiles and insects are the usual fare for the Predacons.

KpopStarz adds that the Maximals and the Predacons typically inhabit a planet far away from Earth, which might make sense with the ending of "Age of Extinction."

For those who didn't see it (and be warned, for dreaded SPOILERS follow), the film alludes to Optimus Prime venturing into outer space to destroy bigger and more powerful evils. So he might meet up with a Maximal or two.

But the biggest and most insane rumor by far comes from Air Herald. They're claiming that Liam Neeson is in the running to play a Transformer in the next film- one named Vector Prime.

That would be absolutely insane- and we desperately hope it's real, and not just a bunch of rumor mill hokum.
