It looks like Portia de Rossi isn't splitting with wife, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, anytime soon - and she's got her mother-in-law's support to prove that. The actress took her mother-in-law Betty as her date to the benefit gala of The Paley Center for Media, held at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles last Wednesday.
De Rossi, who just recently joined Twitter, even tweeted a selfie with her mother-in-law - with the caption "My date for the @paleycenter event!" - before heading out to the event, which celebrates LGBT equality in television.
Divorce rumors have been circulating about De Rossi and DeGeneres recently, following news that the couple cancelled on a fundraising event after a fight. According to E! Online, the couple was a no-show to a charity bash for Saving Spot, a pet rescue center in LA, because they had a "huge fight" on the way to the event. The couple, however, said in a statement to E! News that they couldn't make it to the event in the first place. "We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend," they said, calling the event's invite, which featured the couple, "misleading."
Saving Spot's owner Lizzie Scherer has since issued an apology. "The entire scenario was fabricated. There was no such fight, and Ellen and Portia never planned to attend the benefit," said Scherer.
Following the divorce rumors, De Rossi also denied stories of her and DeGeneres having a baby. After news of De Rossi's rumored pregnancy broke, the 41-year-old actress sat with her talk show host wife in an episode of 'The Ellen De Generes Show,' which aired last month. In a Youtube clip from the show, DeGeneres asked if De Rossi was pregnant, to which she said, "It would be so fun for everybody if we were."
The former 'Arrested Development' star is set to appear in the fourth season of the hit ABC show 'Scandal.' No updates yet on her character, but TheWrap reports that a multiple-episode arc is in store for De Rossi.
