K-pop fans might be seeing a reunion they have been wishing to happen for five years. Recent reports claim that JYJ members Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu will be at the premiere of "Big March", which will also be attended by the two remaining members, Shim Changmin and Jung Yunho, of their former group TVXQ.
Fans have been expressing their excitement as this would mark the five idols' reunion after their controversial split in 2009. They were reportedly invited to attend the upcoming movie premiere of "Big Match" starring Lee Jungjae, Shin Hakyun, Lee Sungmin, and BoA, KpopStars reports.
The premiere is scheduled on November 24, in Wangsini, Eastern Seoul.
The idols debuted as TVXQ, also known as DBSK, under SM Entertainment in 2003. In 2009, Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu left the group after filing a case against SM Entertainment. Since then, they have not been seen in public with the remaining members Changmin and Yunho.
After their departure from TVXQ, they formed their own group named JYJ. They released their first album in 2010 titled "The Beginning."
The remaining two members stayed with SM Entertainment and made a comeback in 2011 with "Keep Your Head Down." They continued to use the name TVXQ and promoted as a duo.
KPopStarz reported that Yunho and Changmin will be attending the movie premiere to show their support for singer-actress BoA, who is their label mate in SM. JYJ, on the other hand, is reportedly attending the event to support the movie's lead actor, Lee Jungjae, who is their label mate from C-JeS Entertainment.
However, Daily Kpop News pointed out that while the idols are reported to make an attendance, there is no final confirmation as to whether they will show up during the event. It can be recalled that there were instances in the past that one of the two groups did not attend an event if the other did. However, the possibility of seeing the five idols together in one event after a long time has been catching the interest of many K-pop fans.
In other news, TVXQ will return to the Japanese music scene with their album, "WITH." According to Allkpop, the duo recently released the cover images of their albums, which will be released on December 17.
