2NE1 to hold Japan fan meeting?; Alleged schedule surfaces online

By

Despite disbandment rumors, announced abstinence from year-end award shows, and speculated rift between member Dara and YG, 2NE1's Japanese fans might be having the chance to see the globally popular group before the year ends.

Dara recently dished there might be a possible fan meeting in Japan soon. This was followed by the spread of an alleged schedule which contains dates and venues of what it claims to be as "fan meetings."

The alleged schedule, which was posted by a Twitter user, claims the fan meeting events will be held at the Zepp Diversity in Tokyo, on December 12; Dojima River Forum in Osaka on December 13 and 14; Scalar Espacio in Fukuoka on December 19; and Zepp Nagoya in Aichi on December 20.

YG Entertainment has not yet confirmed these schedules. However, if this is true, then it gives more sense to previous reports that the group will not be attending year-end award shows.

"Though they've received a number of offers for music award ceremonies, we respectfully declined," said a YG rep according to Allkpop. "Park Bom is still reflecting, so we ask for your understanding."

"2NE1 cannot put on a show without Park Bom. However, besides that, Park Bom is not participating in any other domestic schedules. She is currently taking time to self-reflect. Please support them until they make their comeback. They will make a good album and come back as 2NE1," added the rep.

However, the group attended and performed during the Alexander Wang X H&M launch event in Shanghai, China on November 4.

After videos of their performances surfaced on the Internet, fans noticed that Dara seems to be avoiding CL while on stage. This has led to rumors that there is a rift between the two.

Things get worse as it was reported recently that Dara unfollowed 2NE1's record label YG Entertainment on Twitter. This was followed by news that the idol had her first solo fan meeting in Myungdong, fresh from her birthday celebration and what she described as a "healing vacation" in the Philippines.

Dara took to Twitter to express her thoughts on her fan meeting. "After my debut in Korea, today is the first time that I did a solo fan meeting," the 2NE1 member wrote. "To the Blackjacks who were with me during my first time and Clio, thank you so much."

"It was a bit sad because I was alone but because you all were there to support, I gained strength today. To all of my fans from all over the world, thank you so much for today! I am so thankful that I have such amazing fans. You are why I do the things I do. You keep me going!"

Some observers pointed out that YG Entertainment did not promote Dara's fan event.
