"Longmire" fans can rest easy. Their months of yelling and picketing and Twitter-stampeding paid off, as reported by Variety, the crime drama, cancelled by A&E for being too successful with the wrong demographics, had been picked up by Netflix for ten episodes in 2015.
But since then, little has leaked out about what Netflix has planned for new "Longmire" episodes. However, Breathecast reports that the show's writers have begun working on the scripts for the next season, and that the show will naturally pick up from where the third season's cliffhanger left off.
Already, actors are showing their support for the series- Breathecast also reports that star Lou Diamond Phillips tweeted the following:
"The Saga continues! Very excited to see where S4 takes us with #LongmireOnNetflix Thanks @netflix We ride for the brand!"
And Robert Taylor tweeted:
"Awesome job posse, keep riding. Regards, Rob. #LongmireOnNetflex @LongmirePosse."
Enstars, however, has more news on when the series will commence. Apparently, the fourth season of "Longmire" will begin filming in March- but already, Netflix has started to put out casting calls for extras (so if you spent hours stampeding for "Longmire," now's your chance to get on the show).
The casting call will take place in the Santa Fe area, as the show is looking for Santa Fe locals to populate the scenes in season four. The casting call is set for Saturday, December 6, from 9 AM to 3PM, in case you happen to live in the Santa Fe area.
It was a long and a difficult fight for "Longmire" fans, but at least now the news about their favorite show is all positive- no more "will it get picked up?" news, and lots of "new details about season four" news.
Check back soon for the latest updates on the new season of "Longmire."
