An early access release date for H1Z1 has been officially confirmed by Sony Online Entertainment. According to PC Games N, H1Z1 will be a massive multiplayer online game and is set to be released on January 15, 2015. There will be two versions of the release which includes a $19.99 basic early access SKU and another version which has yet to be confirmed.
CEO John Smedley announced on Twitter that they want to set a high bar quality for Early Access and they were happy with the result of their hardwork even though it took them a bit longer. He gave a few details on Reddit why it took their team more time than they have originally thought. He said, "The simple answer is once we saw what we could have had earlier it wasn't good enough and we wanted to put something out that we would be proud of. What you'll be playing January 15th is a really fun game, but it's early. It's everything Early Access should be - a fun and compelling game that isn't finished. Our goal is to have you help us finish it and have it be a game we can build a large community in over time."
Meanwhile, Load the Game reported that H1Z1 will be a massive open world zombie survival game and players will be doing a lot of things in game. The webpage of H1Z1 provided that the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where players must survive the zombie onslaught by using strategy, wit and alliance with other players.
The possible future contents of the game, as indicated in their website, will feature intelligent undead enemies, dynamic environment, lots of weapons and vehicles to use, expansive crafting system, and base building and fortification to increase survival rate. Other in-game future features will be implemented including capability to play as a zombie, military gears, Air Drops, additional contents and expanding the game map.
For now, players can enjoy the zombie survival challenge when the game is released in Steam on January 15, 2015.
