A very early "target gameplay footage" video of the new "Assassin's Creed" game for 2015 was leaked to Kotaku and the game is to be set in 19th century London during the Victorian era.
According to Kotaku, the game is set to be released on fall of 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The new game is code-named 'Victory' which is in reference to being set in the Victorian era of London.
The game is said to be headed by Ubisoft's Quebec Studio compared to the usual Montreal office which was in charge of the "Assassin's Creed" series since the first one on 2007. This is further confirmed by the fact that Ubisoft also stated in a blog post that the Quebec branch will "lead future Assassin's Creed".
"Assassin's Creed: Victory" will also use the same graphics engine of "Assassin's Creed: Unity" which is the Anvil engine. The leaked video was also confirmed to be running on the game engine and isn't pre-rendered and Kotaku even goes on to say, "The video is surprisingly slick and could pass for an E3 presentation."
Other notable things in the leaked video are various new side missions/features like gambling, street racing with carriages, and more. A new item is also featured which seems like a grappling hook when the protagonist swoops in for the kill.
But the fans and the general public are already criticizing Ubisoft for making another "Assassin's Creed" game when their latest entry, "Assassin's Creed: Unity" was plagued with numerous game breaking bugs and glitches which can be seen in this video.
"Unity" also got mostly mediocre to horrible reviews from various gaming media outlets because of the bugs and glitches mentioned. Not to mention Ubisoft charging players more via microtransactions to unlock certain features and items in-game even if the game didn't use a free-to-play model.
After the disaster that was "Assassin's Creed: Unity", Ubisoft even went on to announce on their website that they are giving away the "Dead Kings" DLC for free for everyone.
PCGamer also asked a statement from Ubisoft with the early leaked gameplay footage and this is what they had to say:
"It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players."
