‘Iron Man 4’ Latest Update: Robert Downey Jr. confirms Iron Man appearances in other Marvel projects; Will he be replaced by a 13 year old?

By

Last month we've seen Robert Downey Jr. on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' to promote his new film 'The Judge.' But the fans are in for a surprise-whether by mistake or thanks to Ellen's ability to extract what should have been confidential information-when he hinted about the upcoming 'Iron Man' installment series and this revelation has fans ecstatic, Breathe Cast reported.

After several conjectures whether there will be an 'Iron Man 4' Movie, RDJ confirmed that there shall not be a movie of this title but it doesn't mean that we will no longer be able to see our favorite mechanical superhero. He's still on plenty of Marvel projects-some of which have already been set years ahead-and this includes the 'Avengers' movies.

Another rumor that is starting to get attention from avid 'Iron Man' fans is that someone else is going to take RDJ's role and he's thought to be younger. Some were assuming that he could be in his 20's or 30's, but it seems like he's even younger than that like 13 years old, Kdramastars reported.

Recent reports identify the new Iron Man as Ty Simpkins. It hasn't been confirmed yet but some are pointing out that this may not be far-fetched considering the similar attributes of the two.

In an interview with I Am Rogue, Ty shared his thoughts about becoming the Iron Man: "Well they are both similar and like I said before, the Tony Stark/Captain America relationship was very similar."

And when it was suggested that he will play the mechanical hero, he said, Yea, I guess so, maybe not the same as Iron Man but something close to that. That would be pretty cool. Maybe if Tony Stark is over with being a super hero, because it kind of seemed like that, then Harley could take over when he gets older or build his own Iron Man suit. Well, I'm not sure if they are going to do a Iron Man 4 but maybe in The Avengers 2, and if not, then Iron Man 4."

Also, Ty Simpkins shared that this possible development will not necessarily take place in the 'Iron Man 4' movie; in fact, this might just happen in 'Avengers 2.' Master Herald believes that the rumors about the 2nd 'Avengers' movie is not as wild as the anticipation for the 4th Iron Man installment so it might be difficult to pin down the studio's decision on this matter. Eventually, removing RDJ from Iron Man is definitely going to steer the future of the franchise to a totally different direction-a change in formula that may become a real disaster in the eyes of Iron Man die-hard fans.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming "Iron Man 4"? Do you think Robert Downey Jr. will be prominent on becoming the world's only Iron Man? Stay tuned for more latest updates.
