Korean media outlets reported that there was no agreement reached between the parties of former EXO member Kris and SM Entertainment in their court mediation held last December 5, KpopStars reports.
Kris, who is now known as Wu Yifan, filed a contract nullification lawsuit against SM Entertainment back in May due to alleged unfair income distribution among members of EXO. After the filing, the complainant has been scheduled to have court mediations with the record label to come up with an amicable agreement prior to proceeding with a standard lawsuit.
Legal representatives of both sides attended the mediation at the Seoul Central District Court, though the Chinese-Canadian actor-singer and SM's CEO Kim Young Min were not present.
After leaving EXO, Wu Yifan has returned to China and became active with his solo career as actor and singer. He is part of the cast of upcoming Chinese movie "Somewhere Only We Know."
Soompi noted that due to the two parties' failure to reach an agreement as with their first schedule back in July, the contract much-talked about dispute will continue next year, with a third round of court-appointed arbitration.
According to reports, the December 5 mediation only lasted for 20 minutes. Should the two parties again fail to have an agreement with their next arbitration, they will have to argue their cases in the court.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Yifan's movie "Somewhere Only We Know" released a teaser trailer. While the film's first 30-second trailer featured an emotional tone, the new teaser showed a lighter side of the story as it tells the story of the younger couple played by Yifan and Claudia Wang.
The teaser introduces Kris' character as a playboy admired by many girls due to his good looks and talent as a musician.
"Somewhere Only We Know" is directed by Xu Jinglei and is slated for release in February 14, 2015.
