We've known for a while now that "Longmire" is safe- Netflix has picked up the crime drama for a fourth season, and the horror of cancellation is no more.
What we don't know is... what exactly is the fourth season going to be about? The third season had a lot to do with Deputy Branch, how he was shot by David Ridges and all the drama that spiraled out from there. But amid all the hubbub about the show's renewal, no one's spoken about the storyline for the upcoming season on Netflix.
Until now. Well, maybe. It's not 100% clear. Tony Tost, a writer for the series, has been tweeting some potential clues for the storyline of the new season.
Tost's last two tweets about the upcoming "Longmire" season have revolved around the music in the writer's room. First is a little Tanya Tucker:
"Now playing in the #Longmire writer's room...Tanya Tucker - What's Your Mama's Name"
And then a little Sturgill Simpson.
"Now playing in the #Longmire writer's room: Turtles All the Way Down | Sturgill Simpson"
It might not sound like much, but there might be more to this than just a writers' room playlist. JBG News notes that Tost has previously tweeted songs from the writers' room that were actually clues to major "Longmire" storylines, and that the two songs noted above may be examples of the very same thing.
Enstars adds that Tost has previously tweeted about two other songs, by Mahogany Dread and Willie Thrasher, and that those may also be clues to potential "Longmire" storylines.
They also add that the Tanya Tucker song, "What's Your Mama's Name," may be a hint that the series will delve more into the relationship between Cady and her mother.
Check back soon for more "Longmire" news- and more potential songs from the writer's room. They could mean something, you know.
