Andy Serkis Speaks About His "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Role, How Many Characters He's Playing and His Status as an Action Figure

By

The slow reveal of anything to do with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has been maddening, but with the first trailer for the film released, solid info is finally starting to drip out on a regular basis (unlike beforehand, where we knew absolutely nothing, for months on end).

Here's the newest tidbit of officially-confirmed, non-rumor "Star Wars" goodness. Andy Serkis, (who, back in the beginning of December, was confirmed by Good Morning America to have performed the voice-over for the first "The Force Awakens" trailer) has spoken to Entertainment Weekly and revealed a small amount of new info about his character in "The Force Awakens." We may not know that character's name, his motivations, his looks or his overall part in the story... but at least we've got something.

Here's what we've learned about Serkis's "Star Wars" role.

Serkis's voice was not digitally manipulated for the trailer.

Serkis is only playing one character- not, as previously rumored by Jedi News, two major characters involved in different portions of the story.

Serkis's haggard and gravelly voice may mean his character is older, wiser, or in some position of power. "He's been through some stuff," says Serkis, refusing to be any more descriptive than that.

Serkis also revealed that there was never any other working titles for "The Force Awakens" besides "The Force Awakens." Apparently, the film was referred to as "Episode VII," with no other subtitles used by the cast or crew until the title was officially chosen.

Serkis also expects his character to have an action figure. But it's probably a safe bet that every single character even remotely involved with "The Force Awakens" will have some kind of action figure.

That's all for now- hopefully some other actor will step forward soon to give us another little morsel of "Star Wars" info.

Check back soon for the latest news on "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
