See the Millennium Falcon Up Close in New Images from 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

By

We already saw the Millenium Falcon in the first teaser trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," zooming up and away from the camera in a stomach-churning dogfight with a couple of TIE fighters.

But Disney has just dropped a new tease of one of (if not THE) most famous spaceship in film history. Fortune Magazine has two new exclusive shots of the spaceship, and better look at how the Falcon will be resdesigned in the upcoming seventh "Star Wars" film.

The covers related to Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, and how he's united Star Wars, Marvel superheroes, Pixar and ESPN into the same massive corporate film entity. Both images show Iger posed in front of the Falcon, which is angled differently in each shot.

Slashfilm also notes that the Falcon has a new satellite, different from how it appeared in the original films.

Fortune also describes just how the cover came to be:

"As for the cover shot, Yannick Dusseault, visual effects art director for The Force Awakens, and his team gave Fortune six options showing the Falcon in different ways. The resulting image required the custom rendering of ILM's computer generated Falcon. According to ILM, the fabled ship was rendered in wireframe form (a skeletal version) as well as a more layered 'textured render,' which were combined in Photoshop to create the final image."

But while this particular Falcon was computer-generated, fans should rest easy knowing that much of "The Force Awakens" isn't (that was one of the biggest complaints over the much-maligned prequel trilogy).

Oscar Isaac, playing Poe Dameron in the upcoming film, told Yahoo that much of the film is based around practical effects.

"It was hard to believe that I was actually sitting in there and doing that," he said. "And it's physical. You have to kind of get in touch with that child again that had a little X-Wing and would fly around his room making crazy sounds, you had to tap into that spirit again and that was a lot fun. There was a lot of practical effects. A lot of the stuff they actually made. There wasn't a lot of green screen."
