Hulk Gets Mad at Ironman on "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Trailer? Black Widow's Sordid Past, Ballerinas Featured

By

As "Avengers: Age of Ultron" draws ever closer to its May 1, 2015 release date, every new scrap of footage feels like a massive event. So naturally, the release of a brand new, all-new trailer for the upcoming Marvel superhero film is a massive deal.

This new trailer, the second major theatrical trailer to be released for "Age of Ultron," doesn't give us that much new information about the future Marvel film, but it does give us a lot of new footage about things we already know will be in it.

More footage of Ultron and his army of robot soldiers, swarming the globe and trying to destroy all of humanity.

More footage of the Avengers, looking worried and possibly mutinous after its revealed that Iron Man is the one who built Ultron and is responsible for all the horror seen in the film.

More shots that seemingly hint at Black Widow's sordid past- the first trailer held a glimpse of ballerinas, seemingly hinting at a backstory for the character, and now there's clear images of a much younger-looking Scarlett Johansson being pushed onto a table and being operated on.

Much more footage of the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight- new shots of Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk smashing each other to pieces on the streets of South Africa, with the Hulk looking potentially mind-controlled, or just very, very upset (his eyes seem unnaturally red).

It's also a much more morose trailer than usual- as noted by Rolling Stone. Along with the eerie background music, there's absolutely no humor (the first "Avengers" film was pretty funny), and the quotes from characters make everything seem so very dark.

Slashfilm also notes multiple connections to the "Black Panther" franchise in the trailer- shots of a woman who's likely either Black Panther's sister or a member of his personal guard, and the appearance of Andy Serkis, who's most likely playing Ulysses Klaw, a longtime Black Panther villain.

Check out the trailer below.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, James Spader, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L. Jackson. It'll hit theaters on May 1. And until then, check back soon for the latest updates, trailers and new info on this latest Marvel film.
