Based on the biopic of Chris Kyle, this Clint Eastwood adaptation of the soldier's journey to war is hitting it big in the cinemas. As of last Super Bowl weekend, it is nearing its $50 million mark, a $31.8 million shy to set a new Super Bowl weekend record.
"American Sniper" now ranks as the top grossing war movie of all time and is tapping into the emotions of several critiques and Americans out there. Bradley Cooper who plays the role of Chris Kyle really managed to show his struggles in creating a balance in is life at home while taking a toll out of the psychological trauma and experience he had during the Iraq war. The monumental movie opened up with total earnings of $ 107 million and continued to grow as the intrigue of the movie crept on the social media scene.
The movie is predicted to really make waves in the box office because of the phenomenal attention the official preview of the movie had. Its official trailer released last December 2014 was viewed 10 million times on Youtube. Kyle is shown in between his life at home and his life at the warzone triggered so much emotion and intrigue with the audience making it a phenomenal hit.
The movie is like a true to life superhero movie. Wild Card founder and CEO Nick temple tells The Hollywood Reporter shares how he wanted to create momentum in the movie. "It was tense, but at the same time you were getting character beats and you were getting glimpses into what it was like for this character," he says.
Michelle Obama shared her points of views about the movie via The Hollywood Reporter. "While I know there have been critics of Sniper, I felt that, more often than not, this film touches on many of the emotions and experiences that I've heard firsthand from the military families over these past few years," Obama said.
American Sniper is an American Biographical War Drama film written by Jason Hall and directed by Clint Eastwood. It stars Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle and was released last November 11, 2014 under Warner Bros.
