"Rise of the Tomb Raider" is the sequel for the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot. Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, the game explores Lara Croft's journey as she embrace her destiny as Tomb Raider.
The upcoming "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be an exclusive Xbox 360 and Xbox One game for a limited time. Fans of Lara Croft can pre-order the game for their Xbox consoles to secure their copies early on. PlayStation 4 and PC gamers may have to wait a little longer before they can play the upcoming title. According to a recent report, the game will be available for release on December 15 and it will cost $60.00 USD.
Xbox Gamers will have the opportunity to play the game earlier compared to other console players. Xbox boss Phil Spencer said in a press conference that the game's exclusivity is of limited duration. He explained that "I have Tomb Raider shipping next holiday exclusively on Xbox. It is Xbox 360 and Xbox One. I'm not trying to fake anybody out in terms of where this thing is. What they do with the franchise in the long run is not mine. I don't control it. So all I can talk about is the deal I have. I don't know where else Tomb Raider goes," He then added that, "Yes, the deal has a duration. I didn't buy it. I don't own the franchise."
While Square Enix has not yet release an official plot for the game, news says that the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be darker compared to the previous title in the rebooted game series. Lara Craft will be exploring the events after her escape from the Pacific Islands. It was reported that Lara will be exploring more about her recent survivals as she tries to put her mind to rest. There will be more exploration of the myths and stories of the game and the fan favorite heroine will resume her adventures which were missing in the previous title.
"Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be released for Xbox One and Xbox 360 this Holiday. PlayStation 4 and PC Gamers will have to wait a little longer for the release of the game in their console. Stay tuned for our news coverage on Square Enix's official announcement!
