"Final Fantasy XV" is considered to be the saving grace of the Final Fantasy Game Franchise. A lot of final fantasy fans have been disappointed with the previously released Final Fantasy games and have since turned their backs on the franchise. However Square Enix is determined to bring back the franchise into its glory days and they are doing everything to restore the faith of the gamers.
Square Enix is Hiring
Square Enix is currently hiring according to a recent report. They have posted two listings in their Japanese recruitment page for Final Fantasy XV planners. The first listing is for the Team Leader position which will be based in Shinjuku and who needs to be able to propel the development of their game system which includes the battle engine, level design and other development task.
Required formal education is surprisingly low considering that they are only looking for those who have at least a high school diploma. However, the company will need an applicant who can handle multi-tasking and to be able to create a very productive environment. The other surprising requirement includes "Confidence in your physical strength and stamina," which can be important especially if the development team will be required to do long shifting hours in order to get Final Fantasy XV done.
Taipei Game Show and Collaboration with XPEC
Square Enix is really determined to finish their latest masterpiece since they have collaborated with XPEC in order to finish the upcoming "Final Fantasy XV". In the recently held Taipei Game Show, Square Enix announced that they have teamed up with XPEC, a Taiwanese company, to help them in finishing the development of "Final Fantasy XV". According to game director Hajime Tabata, the upcoming Final Fantasy game is a large scale project and they'll need all the help they can get.
Speaking of Taipei Game Show, Kotaku reported that Square Enix show cased their "Cat Cam" in order to show the fans the visual aesthetics of the upcoming "Final Fantasy XV". Even though they are still under development, the game promises a crisp and improved graphics in the upcoming title.
Current Status
In a recent interview, Game Director Hajime Tabata revealed some of the things that they are considering in "Final Fantasy XV". He said that airships are still being deliberated considering that "It is a huge technical challenge; as mentioned earlier, all areas are connected. We are trying to tackle that challenge. So at the moment we can't say yes, they will be included, but we do want to and we're ready to take on that challenge and see what can be done."
Dungeons are also going to be revised to give a new experience for gamers. Tabata said that "In the most classic Final Fantasy title category, for me, dungeons [were] very scary things that were chaotic and uncontrollable. In the dungeons, there is this kind of strangeness where something that shouldn't necessarily be there in real life is existing. That kind of strangeness, the non-normal, that feeling you get in those circumstances, will be experienced in [Final Fantasy XV]."
"Final Fantasy XV" is a huge project indeed. It may be the Final Fantasy game that will save the franchise and redeem its former glories. Fans should be thankful that Square Enix are doing their best in order to give them the best Final Fantasy game yet. Stay tuned for more updates!
