The new "Insurgent" trailer that aired last Sunday during the Superbowl XLIX lasted no more than a minute but it was enough to keep fans of the dystopian series sitting on the edge of their seats in excitement. And with latest character stills released by the studio, everyone just can't seem to wait for the movie scheduled to hit the theaters on March 20.
"She is the one." That is the one solid message of the minute-long trailer which had a Neo/Matrix-like feel to it thanks to shots of crumbling buildings and bursting lights (via ChristianToday.com).
In the clip, Tris (played by Shailene Woodley) was seen trapped inside a glass box with Jeanine Matthews (played by Kate Winslet) studying her from outside. Tris charges and breaks the glass wall to attack only to have the Erudite leader bursting into particles the moment she touches her. The building around her starts to dissolve and she falls, with the video dramatically ending the moment she hits the ground.
This latest ad was shortly followed by the release of new character shots in the upcoming movie. In one of the pictures, Tris was seen staring fiercely at someone while another featured Naomi Watts who will be playing Four's (played by Theo James) mom in the movie.
Watts was shown as a brunette, something which is very much in contrast with her signature blonde locks. According to DesignnTrend.com, Four's mother will be playing such a large role in the film adaptation of Veronica Roth's second book that it had to cast someone as big as Naomi.
Other character stills show Four looking as fierce as ever and new characters and allies Marlene and Jack Kang. The roles will be filled by Suki Waterhouse and Daniel Dae Kim respectively.
"Insurgent" will also see the return of stars from the first film, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz, Maggi Q, Ashley Judd, and Ansel Elgort (via ChristianPost.com).
