Could "Transformers 5" Cross Over With "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2?" Michael Bay, Megan Fox and Jonathan Liebesman Makes It Possible

By

Does "Transformers" really need Michael Bay? Technically, Bay has directed all four "Transformers" movies so far, and all four "Transformers" movies have made a small country's worth of cash. Each. But all four "Transformers" movies have also been critically panned, and maybe a new director could bring in the same "Transformers" dollars and some slightly more positive "Transformers" reviews.

You never know.

But the word is that Bay's out as far as "Transformers 5" goes. MoviePilot has two interesting rumors about the upcoming film. One is that yes, Bay is not going to be directing Optimus Prime's next adventure. Although he will be staying on as a producer, so his take on "Transformers" will still be felt.

More interestingly, MoviePilot suggests that with Michael Bay no longer directing, there's an opening for Megan Fox to return. Fox originally left the series (she starred in the first two "Transformers" films, "Transformers" and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen") over a tiff with Bay. Now that he's gone, she could go back to earning those sweet, sweet "Transformers" dollars.

But while Bay might be out, star Mark Wahlberg seems to be a definite "yes." The actor revealed (via ScreenRant) that he would indeed be returning to the "Transformers" franchise.

"Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more... you know I can't speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we'll be on the set soon."

Inquisitr has the most fascinating rumor of all. They're claiming that Jonathan Liebesman, who directed "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and is a rumored candidate to fill in if Bay leaves "Transformers 5," had hinted at the possibility of a "Transformers"/"Ninja Turtles" crossover movie. Give the two's critical failings, such a movie would likely be hated by every critic on Earth. But it'd probably make a ton of money, wouldn't it?
