The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is just around the corner and Samsung, HTC, and Sony are all gearing towards building up the anticipation for their respective products. With leaked photos of Samsung Galaxy S6 taking the spotlight, there are assumptions that HTC One M9's "disappointing" leaked video and Sony's "error" in putting up Xperia Z4 Tablet details were done on purpose.
Samsung Galaxy S6 will come with a curved screen and a 128GB model. It will also cost over $1,000, Ars Technica says. According to the article, which cites a source from Samsung's European mobile carrier partners, Galaxy S6 will have a 64GB curved version priced at $1,076, while a 128GB version costs $1,189. The rumored prices, as mentioned by someone who claims to have already seen the unreleased devices, makes the variants more expensive than Apple's latest offering.
Despite the curved edge being the main selling point of teasers about the Galaxy S6, Samsung is also apparently releasing a normal screen variant that looks similar to the S5. In fact, two-thirds of the devices shipped by Samsung are not the highly-anticipated curved screen model. Apparently, Samsung is experiencing stock constraints "due to manufacturing issues caused by the curved display."
The Galaxy S6 is expected at the MWC next week. However, Samsung Galaxy S6 leaked photos are currently in circulation, giving hints at what to expect from Samsung's latest offering. According to XDA Developers, a member uploaded leaked images allegedly coming from AT&T.
The photographs show the Samsung Galaxy S6 to have a 5-inch screen with no forward-facing stereo speakers. Galaxy S6 is shown to have a non-removable back and lacking a microSD card slot.
Samsung is not the only company to have photos of its upcoming product released ahead of release date, as HTC's One M9 features have also been leaked in a video. However, One M9's video proves to be disappointing for fans, leading them to think that it might be a ploy to surprise them at the device's unveiling. BGR reports a commenter named CargetGee saying, "Samsung is spending money like crazy advertising more and more looks of the S6. It would be very smart of HTC, a company without much cash on hand, to share some fake 'full' leaks to steal the spotlight back."
Meanwhile, Sony has pulled a different stint by releasing a listing of its Xperia Z4 before pulling it down. Sony's revelation, which Engadget is considering to be an error, comes just days away from the device's unveiling on March 3 at the MWC 2015. What is known so far about the Z4 is that it will come with 2,560x1,440 high-res 2k screen, "the latest ultra fast processor," "lightweight premium body," and "industry leading battery performance."
