Xbox One, PS4 March Update: Screen Capture Now Available

By

The latest system update of Xbox One is now live and it delivers the much awaited and most requested feature by fans -- screenshots. Users can now take screen-caps by double tapping the Xbox button on their controller and pressing 'Y' to save it. Kinect users have the option of taking screenshots by simply saying "Xbox, take a screenshot." Taken screenshots can be shared and uploaded via twitter, or just be kept saved safely in OneDrive.

Another update included in the patch is the Name sharing option, in which players can choose to share their real name to select friends, everyone, or no one at all. Finding your buddies will also be easier now that suggested friends can be found under the friends tab of the homepage. 3 new icons were added as Party Chat enhancements to show each user their own microphone status. Moreover, users can now set the level of transparency of their dashboard background in the settings menu using the Tile transparency update, this option was highly requested as well. Along with this, Voice search privacy, and Reporting spams, were featured in the March system update.

Special updates for Australian Xbox One users were also included: Live TV and OneGuide, and Xbox One Digital TV Tuner. The former will make support of OneGuide be available to all Xbox users in Austrialia for free-to-air channel listings. The latter will make Xbox Digital TV Tuner available for pre-purchase for Xbox owners in Australia.

Xbox One's close competition, the PlayStation 4, has not been idle as well. It has successfully launched the premiere of the series Powers, which PlayStation Plus members can enjoy the full season for free. Not much has been going on though for their system updates, as their latest system software update (PS4 system software version 2.04) last February 17, 2015 only improved system software stability use of features.
