LG G4 is finally announced yesterday through its press invites for an April 28 and 29, 2015 release date worldwide, including New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul. The same day a benchmark test reveals G4 sporting a promising specs, including the processor and the camera.
While leather touches and premium materials incorporated to G4 remains unconfirmed, GFXBench reveals the phone running with Qualcomm's 64-bit, hexa-core Snapdragon 808 silicon with four ARM Cortex-A53 and two ARM Cortex-A57 cores, an Adreno 418 GPU, a 16MP rear camera, and an 8MP front shooter. The phone wears a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen at 1440 x 2560-pixel resolution with five-finger gesture support.
However, Snapdragon 808 and a Adreno 418 graphics sit below Sony's recent revelation Xperia Z4 running with Snapdragon 810 chipset and an Adreno 430 graphics. While Xperia Z4 runs with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, G4 will run in advance with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Codenamed F500X, G4 will also sport a 3GB of RAM, 23GB of built-in storage. The 16MP camera boasts a 4K UHD video capture.
In previous news, G4 was reported to veer away from plastic panels while opting for aluminum build. However, it was revoked to give way to the upcoming G4 Note, the upcoming high-end phablet of the South Korean tech giant.
G4 is also reported to sport a slimmer bezel at .77mm. With the so-called Neo-Edge technology, the phone will give a super-thin body like that of a credit card. With Qualcomm still in the game, LG therefore is not pushing through with its own chip called Nunclun UX 4.0. LG's Juno Cho revealed earlier this month that LG has been spending millions of dollars to develop its own processor.
The expected LG G4 sports a dual-tone LED flash, volume rocker, laser focus, a sole speaker and a power/lock button on the back panel below the camera lens.
G4 is pegged at £600-£800 in UK and around $1000 in the U.S.
