Silent as this launch maybe, it's still getting top headlines. Recently, LG Electronics, listed its smartphone with a curved design - LG Spirit Android 5.0 - in its India site adding a Rs 14,250 price tag to it. This market introduction though devoid of much fanfare came after the Korean smartphone maker announced the global roll-out of its four mid-range smartphones - the LG Magna, LG Leon, LG Joy and the LG Spirit.
Originally unveiled last February prior to the MWC, this novelty mid-range handset is packed with a punch - complete with a reinvigorated design, fascinating specs and stunning features.
Hurray to the Curves
As featured on ANALOGINDEX, the device boasts of a 4.7-inch HD 720p touchscreen display with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor topped with a 1GB RAM.
And though onboard phone storage starts only at 8GB, such feature could go as high as 32GB upon extension via MicroSD card.
The front holds a rather-average 1MP shooter while the back shines with an 8MP camera complete with LED Flash and autofocus.
As expected, standard connectivity options ( e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, Micro USB) are factored in.
Running on a 2100mAh battery, the device comes along with the handy 'Knock Code' feature for added phone security.
Device is dual-SIM but what could catch it extra points in the Marketing Department is its slightly curved design- with radius of curvature at 3000mm - making it easier to fit in the hand.
Facing a Tough Fight
Priced mid-range at Rs 14,250, the LG Spirit is a stunner in Black and Gold.
Recent reports from Gizbot reveal big dealers such as the Mumbai-based Mahesh Telecom can lower the price up to Rs 13,690.
For Android Lollipop 5.0 fans, the LG Spirit is certainly a strong come-on as it carries the much-acclaimed Android upgrade.
However, it may still have to put up a lot of braves as it will be facing tough competition from much lower-priced Android smartphones thriving in the same market - Xiaomi Redmi 2 for example.
