Sony and Microsoft had a load of stuff in store for their hardcore gamers this April. While Sony would be releasing a set of free games for their PS Plus members, Microsoft would be giving out great deals to their Xbox Live Gold and Silver members.
First off, Sony had already released its list of free games this April in the PlayStation blog. The games included in the list would be free for PS Plus members. PS4, PS3 and PS Vita gamers could check-out the PlayStation.com website for more information on PS Plus membership. The first free game to be featured was "Tower of Guns," which would be available in PS4 and PS3 editions. The game would have gamers survive random enemies and bosses, while using power-ups and a boatload of bullets in a gun-packed tower. Next, "Never Alone" would be a puzzle adventure game where the gamer would assist Nuna, a native Alaskan girl, in her quest to save her village. The game's highlight would include breathtaking environments as well as Nuna's companion fox.
Meanwhile, the PS3 game "Dishonored" would feature Corvo Attano, a bodyguard, who was seeking retribution after her was framed for murder. "Dishonored" would also feature the protagonist possessing powerful abilities needed in maneuvering stealthily in the game. Then there's "Aaru's Awakening" available for PS4 and PS3, which was originally a school project of Icelandic students that ended up as a "gorgeous platformer about navigating treacherous terrain with well-timed teleports."
To complete the list of free PlayStation games for April would be the two titles for PS Vita, "Killzone Mercenary" and "MonsterBag." "Killzone Mercenary" would put the gamers in the middle of the iconic war against the Helghast; on the other hand, "MonsterBag" would feature a bag-shaped monster, named V, who was trying to reach his human friend Nia in this adorable puzzle game while avoiding being noticed by unsuspecting panicky people everywhere.
On the other hand, Microsoft would not be left behind when it came to releasing wonderful perks to their valued Xbox gamers. Although there were no free games on the list, Microsoft would be slashing off as much as 75% from the sale price in some of their games. Also, popular titles with discounted prices would be available for Xbox Live Gold and Silver members, based on a report from Major Nelson.
Among the discounted games available for all Xbox gamers would be "Diablo III Reaper of Souls: Ultimate Evil Edition," "LEGO Marvel Super Heroes," "LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham," "LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Deluxe Edition," "The LEGO Movie Videogame" and "LEGO 'The Hobbit.'" Meanwhile, the discounted games exclusive for Xbox Live Gold and Silver would be "FIFA 15 Deluxe Edition," "Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare," "Peggle 2 Magical Master Edition," "Battlefield 4 Ultimate Shortcut Bundle," "Battlefield 4 Vehicle Shortcut Kit (add on)," "Battlefield 4 Soldier Shortcut Kit (add on)," "Battlefield 4 Weapon Shortcut Kit (add on)," "Battlefield 4 Air Vehicle Shortcut Kit (add on)," "BF4 Ground & Sea Vehicle Shortcut Kit (add on)" and "Dragon Age: Inquisition Deluxe Edition."
Sony and Microsoft had started releasing titles either for free or at a discount price a few weeks back, which made this spring sale a bit more fun for the gaming community.
