'Assassin's Creed Chronicles' PS4, Xbox One, PC Release Update: Ubisoft reveals juicy details on three independent games set in China, India, Russia

Fresh details on "Assassin's Creed Chronicles" were released by game developer Ubisoft just a few days after surprising "Assassin's Creed" gamers that it would now feature a series of three games rather than the original planned single game. "Assassin's Creed Chronicles", which was supposed to be part of the "Assassin's Creed Unity" season pass last September, would now feature three games with storylines that would be interwoven in the narrative.

The latest details from Ubisoft on "Assassin's Creed Chronicles" revealed the three protagonists would have missions that were loosely based on historical events. Add to that, their storylines would be interconnected despite being three independent games in the series.

Ubisoft said that "the China version of Assassin's Creed will have players taking on the role of Shao Jun. Jun returns home to the burning embers of her country. The Assassin's Creed game that takes place in India will have players take on Arbaaz Mir in 1841, as Mir will be put at the center of the conflict between the Sikh empire and East India trading company. Finally, Assassin's Creed Chronicles Russia will focus on Nikolai Orelov, who will need to complete one final mission near where the Tsar and his family are being held by the Bolsheviks," based on a report from Inquistr.

Eariler, Ubisot noted that "Assassin's Creed Chronicles" would feature three characters that would be familiar to "Assassin's Creed" fans following the franchise in the several media platforms that it was made available. The "Assassin's Creed Chronicles" was developed by Climax Studio, which made several racing, horror, puzzle and RPGs in the past. The "Assassin's Creed Chronicles" would also be a 2.5D platform adventure game, which would somehow be a first time for both Climax Studio and the "Assassin's Creed" franchise.

The first story in "Assassin's Creed Chronicles" would be set in ancient China. Shao Jun, the female assassin featured in the first story, would journey across the Ming Dynasty around 1526, when it started to collapse. The second story would feature Arbaaz Mir and would be set in India around 1841 when the Sikh Empire was at war. Finally, the third story would feature Nikolai Orelov during the aftermath of Red October in 1918, the time tsarist Russia crumbled. "Assassin's Creed" gamers could watch the video teaser in Ubisoft Australia's YouTube channel.

Add to that, "Assassin's Creed" hardcore fans could also check out the game's website, assassinscreed.ubi.com, for additional information on "Assassin's Creed Chronicles." Background information on the three games' plots as well as the three legendary assassins were made available for gamers; there were also screengrabs for fans to preview while waiting for the game's release.

The first story, "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China," would be released on April 21st in North and South America. Meanwhile, the game would be launched in the EU the next day. The game would be priced at US$ 9.99 for all countries and would be available in PS4, Xbox One and PC editions.
