Mortal Kombat X is officially set for release on April 14, but some have managed to avail the game already. Gamers, extremely anxious for the new MK title have managed to secure their own copy of both the PS4 and Xbox one versions of the game and it revealed that on April 14, the game will include a 2GB patch. Though stores selling the game this early is hard to find, they are out there, with a copy of the new game.
MKX iOS version available for free
IGN posted a video news update announcing the release of a free to play iOS version of Mortal Kombat X. The mobile version of the game features most of the basic gameplay elements seen on the console version with a combination of "card-collecting, multiplayer, team combat and more," as reported by IGN.
This is firm evidence of netherRealm's attempt to utilize cross-platform features to greatly enhance gamer experience. Ed Boon, Creative director NetherRealm said to IGN,
"we've expanded the unique cross-connectivity feature that links the mobile and console versions of Mortal Kombat X, delivering unique rewards to all players for simply playing the mobile game".
The Killer 'Selfie'
Mortal Kombat X's outlandish killing fatalities turn it up a notch by giving fans a hilarious and gratifying 'killer selfie' finisher. The 'selfie' finisher was posted on Kotaku showing Cassie Cage, arms over a literally 'jaw-dropping' enemy after maiming her horrendously and taking a selfie shot.
Though it is technically a 'doufie' as the heart of her maimed, dying enemy is still beating at that point and not just a lifeless bag of meat and bones. It doesn't end there as Cassie Cage then uploads her brutal escapade on a social media site named 'friendships.' A netherRealms nod to a cultural phenomenon that came about when the instinctive narcissistic tendencies of people are given hand-held devices ready to put into portrait their self-assessed 'awesomeness.'
Nevertheless, Mortal Kombat X is set for release on April 14, 2015. The wait will be over and sounds of 'finish him' will again reverberate loudly to the dismay of anti-violence individuals that continually criticizes the game from the start.
