While the debate among fans of PS4 and Xbox One continued on which of their horses was bigger, a game developer believed that both next-generation gaming consoles were pretty much the same in terms of GPU performance.
Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska, the game developer that brought indie shooter Tower of Guns to the PS3, PS4 and Xbox One, claimed that the PS4 and Xbox One had very few differences, especially with regard to GPU performance, based on a report from GamingBolt. Mikyska said that "yes, they certainly are really similar. There weren't any performance issues that would only appear on one platform, while the other one handled them better. Both machines have some things they like and things they dislike and you have [to] respect that and work around that, but in general, the performance of both is nearly identical."
Mikyska even had thoughts about Microsoft's cloud computing for Xbox One. He said that "it can, in certain ways. We have already seen some cool examples of that in some Microsoft games. Any calculation that does not have to be made in real-time can be sent to server to allow more power for real-time processing. This is of course heavily case-by-case scenario and not every game offers an opportunity for something like that."
On the other hand, things got a little out of hand when fans of both PS4 and Xbox One went to comment on the report featuring Mikyska's thoughts about their beloved game consoles. Gamers could check out the feisty comments on the performance of the two warring game consoles on the link above. Then again, to each his own, right?
Meanwhile, PS4 and Xbox One already had a list of games for release this May, based on a report from iDigitalTimes. It would seem to be a slow month for both gaming consoles as there would be very few major video games scheduled for release next month. Perhaps the most anticipated game in the list would be "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," which many gamers had been waiting for since the start of the year; the game would be launched on May 19th on PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
On the other hand, PS4 would be having exclusive releases on May. "Final Fantasy X" and "X-2 HD Remastered" would be launched on May 12th on North America. "Ultra Street Fighter IV," which would the definitive version of "Street Fighter IV" that would include all the previously released DLCs would be launched on May 26th. Also, "Magika 2," which would only be released on PS4 and the PC, but not on Xbox One, would be released on May 26th.
With the variety of games that would be set for release this May, PS4 and Xbox One gamers would certainly have a lot of time with their next-generation consoles beating those games apart from debating, which would undoubtedly be the best game console in the market.
