The Android community has been the largest mobile environment of the 21st century and this record has not yet been topped by other mobile ecosystems of its kind. After the release, some criticized the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge's lack of removable battery and it is generally thought that because of the device's top-of-the-line specifications, the battery life would essentially be a big issue for customers alike.

There are several ways in which you can maximize the battery life of your Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge battery life.

For one, you can choose to turn off VoLTE. Due to some bug in the firmware, VoLTE has been draining a lot of battery for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge users. Also make it a point to turn off Smart Switch. You can do this by going from Settings to Wi-Fi, to More, to Smart network switch and finally, to Off.

The second thing would be the display. Since the S6 have a large display, it is the major component of the device that consume most of the battery's capacity. Lowering the brightness levels would essentially aid in the power saving principle, but be prepared to compromise for the discrepancies in contrast and sunlight legibility.

Another trick is to head to Settings then go to Battery. Therein you will see two options: Power Saving Mode and Ultra Power Saving Mode. Power Saving Mode will disable a few key features that won't impede your phone's performance. The Ultra Power Saving on the other hand will make your phone to disable all features, except for a few key apps.

The Ultra Power Saving will also drastically decrease the battery usage by almost 50%. If you're planning to bring your device on a long trip, it is advised to turn on this power saving feature, since most of the time, you will have a nap and not give too much attention on your S6.

Additionally, here are other tips to help you prolong your battery's life: Be informed that Facebook and Messenger app also use a lot of batter, so disable apps when you are not using them to save power. Turn off the Greenify apps that run in the background such as Dropbox, 9gag, MyFitnessPal and Wordfeud.

Another effective one is to set the screen brightness to low instead of using auto-brightness. Switch off vibration alerts for Feedback, keyboard and ringing. Turn off the Google location history. It is also very helpful indeed to have widgets, like weather, on the new Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge smartphone but take note that they can eat up a huge chunk of battery life too.
