"Doctor Strange" is one of the most anticipated movies in 2016 following the announcement that Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing the role of Dr. Stephen Strange. While filming for the movie begins later this year, fans of the character may see Dr. Strange on TV before it hits theatres, as the character will reportedly star in Marvel's "Iron Fist" series on Netflix.
Dr. Stephen Strange is set to appear in Marvel's fourth and final show on Netflix, "Iron Fist," following the release of "Daredevil," "A.K.A Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage," Design & Trend reported. Details about Dr. Strange's role in the series are still unknown, including details on whether Benedict Cumberbatch will be taking part in the show or not.
Benedict Cumberbatch was recently announced to play the role of Dr. Stephen Strange in the full-fledged "Doctor Strange" movie. Cumberbatch's successful performance as math genius Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game" has earned him several nominations and awards including Best Performance by an Actor at the 2015 Oscars. These awards and nominations, however, do not seem enough to prepare Cumberbatch for his upcoming role in "Doctor Strange," as the 38-year-old actor has been advised to "bulk up" to achieve a superhero physique.
"Dr. Strange was always muscly in the cartoons so Benedict has to look the part when they start filming in the autumn," a source told The Sun.
The insider added that Cumberbatch's skinny role in "Sherlock Holmes" is the "last thing anyone thinks about." The Oscar-nominated actor has reportedly started working out everyday and has hired a personal trainer to help him get those muscles bulked up. Cumberbatch has also increased his calorie intake in order to achieve Stephen Strange's body built just in time for the movie's filming, which begins in November, Ecumenical News reported.
"Doctor Strange" will be released in theatres on Nov. 4, 2016.
