‘Boruto: Naruto the Movie’ set in a New Era after the Great War: Could Mitsuki be an Ally in Disguise?

By

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie", the Naruto Shippuden spin-off and upcoming movie sequel to the Naruto manga, will be a story set after the Great War with Boruto, son of Naruto, and Sarada, Sasuke's daughter, as the main characters. In this movie, fans will finally get to see Hinata and Naruto's son in action, with all new fresh characters to form his teammates.

One of the new characters that has been revealed via the character design is Mitsuki. Little is known about him as of now except his mysterious personality, composed expression, and slightly-long, white wavy hair. Mitsuki is being linked to Toneri from "The Last: Naruto the Movie", with speculations saying the two are related by blood for their striking resemblance. Mitsuki could be an ally in disguise, or an enemy turned ally, to highlight his mysterious nature. There are so many possibilities given his enigmatic character.

Old characters are also allegedly making an appearance in the upcoming movie, one of which will be Boruto's mentor. In the recently released trailer for "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" Sasuke was called "Master." Naruto Uzumaki, who is also a main character from the first two series will also play roles in the movie. The same voice actors Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama will be voicing for Naruto and Sasuke, respectively.

As the first movie of the 11 instalments for the new Naruto series, this is the first time that the manga fans will have a closer look at Boruto. Fans that are curious to know about Boruto's personality can get a clue from the movie's tagline, "That's tacky crappy, old man".

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will also provide a tribute to the original Naruto manga by bringing back the Orochimaru story arch with a twist. Instead of trying to take Sasuke as he did many years ago, Orochimaru will be after Boruto and Sarada. That is because he is said to be obsessed with obtaining the vessel of immortality and the Sharingan and Byakugan abilities as well.

Aside from Mitsuki, character sketches for Inojin, Shikadai and Chōchō have also been revealed. Inojin acquires the beautiful looks of his father and "he seems to be serious and intelligent." Shikadai also got the fair looks of his father and "has a strong-looking expression of competitiveness." Chōchō is said to be a pudgy girl whose body type comes from Chōji and skin color from Karui. Kakashi's face has been revealed too at Naruto Official Guestbook Shinden Fuu no Sho, which contains information, including revelations, about the TV series.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" is set for an August 7 premiere in Japan theatres. That is still several months away and with Masashi Kishimoto admitting that this is the Naruto movie he has always wanted to make should give its fans a reason to expect more interesting updates since the first official trailer and guest book release.
