The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt released earlier than expected after copies make their way to Middle East stores

By

Fans have had the date May 19th circled on their calendars ever since it was first announced as the day The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt would finally be released, but it appears as though the wait may have been shorter.

The currently on-sale copies of the game were found in different video game stores all over the Middle East. The list of countries includes Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, according to Gearnuke.

Before fans get riled up about the news, they should know that the copies of the game currently on sale are censored, at least in some ways. Scenes depicting nudity and extreme gore which were included are likely not going to end up in this censored version, so perhaps there's a drawback to the early release.

Even if it is indeed the censored version, there's still danger for spoilers now ending up on the web with the game now in the hands of different players, but before the situation even begins to get out of hand, CD Projekt Red is taking charge of the matter, according to Playstation Lifestyle.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not allowed for broadcasting until May 19, 2015. Broadcasting before this date is subject to DMCA guidelines," said the company.

Players who have tried to broadcast the game have already had their accounts banned, so going forward, caution will be important. In related news, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt recently received the Clueless Gamer treatment from Conan O'Brien, according to Digital Trends.

O'Brien yet again delivers his dose of snarky in-game commentary as he travels along with Geralt and experiences the wonderful and at times wacky world of The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3's release date is now inching closer. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will be released on May 19 for the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
