OnePlus is currently developing the successor to the "flagship killer" released in 2014, the OnePlus One. The Chinese smart phone manufacturer has finally announced official price for the OnePlus Two which would amount to $400. OnePlus is known for delivering high end devices that can compete with the biggest smart phones' specifications at half the price. Known as the flagship killer, OnePlus One had made a name to the market. Now, its successor, the OnePlus Two can be expected to match the success of its predecessor with its better hardware specs and improved mobile performance and flexibility.
Rumors regarding the specs of OnePlus Two claim that the device will retain the 5.5 inch model smart phone size. It will also be sporting a metal design and powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor. It will also have a 3GB RAM and 3100 mAh battery.
But luckily, it was reported that OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had posted on Weibo a poll as to how much will the OnePlus Two cost if it is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor. He finally agreed to a OnePlus fan who posted the price of RMB 2500 or $400. It was noted that Lau had replied that it "seems to be a reasonable price". This confirms that OnePlus Two will indeed be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor and have a price tag that declares $400.
On a side note, OnePlus One continues to receive the Android Lollipop update. Thanks to BlissPop who released their custom ROM for the 2014 flagship killer. The custom ROM is based on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The update brings bug fixes and performance upgrades to the OnePlus One. It also improves battery life.
The Custom ROM update brings customization options such as the new notification drawer features, tile options, flashlight option, and detailed Wi-Fi view. It also brings with it gestural options and improved sound options. An AudioFX equalizer is also a new feat to acquire after the Android Lollipop update.
OnePlus is set to dominate the smart phone market with its flagship killers and keeping up with the trend of updating its operating system. OnePlus One is now Android Lollipop update ready with the help of BlissPop. Now as it is set to release the OnePlus Two with its price set at $400, the question will be if it can maintain its status as a flagship killer.
