Robert Downey Jr. Opens Up about ‘Walk-Out’ Interview With Krishnan Guru-Murthy; ‘Iron Man 4’ Not Coming Any Sooner

By

It was just last month that Robert Downey Jr. made headlines as he walked out in a Channel 4 interview with British journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy for the promotion of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and as the issue is near to dying, Downey Jr. finally opened up on what he thought about the interview. Similarly, it was also implied in the recent announcements of Marvel that "Iron Man 4" is nonexistent; could this mean that fans would wait longer than expected?

Refreshingly, Channel 4's Krishnan Guru-Murthy apparently had overstepped the line on interviewing the "Iron Man" actor. The journalist's questions transitioned from the new "Avengers" movie to RDJ's past drug abuse and the time he spent in jail. Unfortunately, the actor didn't like the tone of the interrogation and walked out of the room immediately leaving a shrugging Guru-Murthy.

Now as the month passed and the issue can be buried already, Robert Downey Jr. sat down with "The Howard Stern Show" on Sirius XM radio to talk about the encounter. He told Stern that he has no regrets about walking out of an interview where the journalist kept bringing up his past drug addiction. And to make a fair point, he also admitted that he would have left sooner.

"I'm one of those guys where I'm always kind of assuming the social decorum is in play and that we're promoting a superhero movie," Downey said. However, the actor has his compassion to his young audiences of the film as he expressed that kids were watching him during that interview and he thought it was improper to discuss drugs and his past.

Moreover, the actor made a comment about how Guru-Murthy is a "weirdo" and a "bottom-feeding mucracker." While RDJ is forthright in Stern's interview, he was cheery in a following interview by a Mini-Thor. The young interviewer approached the actor to get his opinion on some questions and it went in a hilarious tone. Mini-Thor even got a cute wink from RDJ for his questions.

"Iron Man 4" May Not Come Any Sooner, Reports Speculate

As the previous announcements of Marvel for its line-up of films up until 2019, it was noticeable that "Iron Man 4" was left out. And it looks like fans can not yet glimpse Tony Stark in the next few years as Master Herald makes a point that if the movie will still be nonexistent in the future announcements of Marvel, then it is expected that public will have to wait for at least another five years before any major announcements to be released.

While that can be maddening, it was likewise rumored that RDJ can still be seen on small cameos in "Black Panther," "Captain Marvel," "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," and the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot. However, as a consolation, no official word yet has been released by Marvel or RDJ himself, so who knows?

Anyway, for now, let's hope for the best that Tony Stark will still be featured in the future Marvel flicks. Do you think Robert Downey Jr. did the right thing by walking out? Are you excited for his projects? Will you miss Iron Man? Worry not because you can still see him in next year's "Captain America: Civil War" to debut on May 6, 2016!
