Destiny available at a massive discount as release of House of Wolves expansion draws closer

By

The hype train for Destiny and House of Wolves continues to roll, as the game has now been marked down by 50% just a week ahead of the latest expansion being released.

The 50% discount is available only to Xbox Live Gold subscribers, so those thinking that this will be an all-inclusive offer will be sorely disappointed. Interestingly, the discounted offer is available only up to May 18, which would put it just shy of the release date for House of Wolves, according to Polygon.

Destiny for Xbox One is also available for a 50% discount but not only to Xbox Live Gold subscribers as, the offer will also be available to Xbox Live Silver subscribers. While it looks like Activision, Sony and Bungie, the game's publishers and developer respectively, are full steam ahead for the release of the new expansion, it looks as though there is at least a slight issue appearing on the horizon.

Update 1.2.0, which is one of the updates specifically designed to prepare the game for the release of House of Wolves, has been delayed, according to Gamezone. Bungie has not given any reason behind the delay thus far.

Update 1.2.0 was released last week, but it was not activated at the time. Patch notes for this update are also unavailable, but Bungie is expected to release details as soon as it does go live. It's unknown whether or not the delay of update 1.2.0 will affect the other pre-House of Wolves update scheduled to be released on May 19th or even if it may also impact the timeline for House of Wolves itself.

Fans will simply have to wait for more new announcements.

Bungie has certainly given fans reasons to be excited about the expansion, and now news has come out that new faction armor for Hunters is also coming via House of Wolves, according to Gamerant.

House of Wolves will be available starting May 19.
