Star Wars will be a big part of Electronic Arts' showing at E3 come June 15. DICE, the developer of Star Wars Battlefront had revealed that they will be showing the first glimpses of gameplay at EA's E3 Conference scheduled at Expo Hall at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. One of the already announced game mode for Star Wars Battlefront is the Fighter Squadron.
DICE noted in their official blog the new game mode for Star Wars Battlefront "Fighter Squadron". Niklas Fegreaus, design director at DICE, stated that there is indeed tiny snippets of this game mode in the official trailer. This particular scene is when you can see large Starfighter battles over canyons.
However, for those who do not like large scale battles in Star Wars Battlefront, there are missions where these types of player can participate. Examples of these are fighting armies controlled by AI, or just testing one's piloting skills. These missions are playable alone by the player or in coop. This should be the perfect option for those who just want to have pick and play sessions with friends.
The reveal trailer also had glimpses of the large maps where there are TIE figthers, X-Wings, and Snowspeeders engaging on full scale battles. These new modes will also have maps that will cater to those who want specific events or circumstances. Star Wars, at least original trilogy, is known for the entertaining space dogfights. In this game, the scale may be much smaller but it still better than nothing, and is exactly what the fans of this game are looking forward to playing.
Star Wars: Battlefront is due to arrive November this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This game is being developed by DICE and is being published by Electronic Arts. DICE is known for their development of the Battlefield franchise which share the same genre, being large scale shooters, as Star Wars Battlefront.
