Destiny Patch 1.2.0 Update is Now Live; Technical Issues, Weapon Balance, and Gameplay Tweaks Implemented, Connection Recovery Not Included

Destiny's biggest and most anticipated patch is live today. The Patch 1.2.0 released by Bungie brought a lof of gameplay tweaks, balance, and performance improvements including technical and user interface overhauls, however, the Connection Recovery feature will be delayed until the release of House of Wolves expansion.

The patch should have come with the House of Wolves expansion pack, but Bungie released the patch ahead of its release. The patch promises to enhance gameplay as well provide additional upgrades to existing characters as posted in Bungie's official blog post.

On the weapon side, the patch fixed the Vex Mythoclast, Hive Disruptor perk, and Phantom Gifts' respective issues. Patch 1.2.0 also removed the count interruption from bonus damage coming from perks. In the PVP arena, the first Relic is now fixed to appear more often in a centrailized position in Salvage. The respawn bug, where players take too long to wait to respawn, is also fixed.

Destiny's User Interface also received changes, including, Vendor Interaction panel having better animations and reduced pop-up issues. It also received an update to support Quest chains. Technical fixes include the improvement in performance of Xbox One during a firefight that causes the game to crash. There are also indicators being displayed for the connection quality.

There are changes that will be live until House of Wolves is released. One of them is the highly anticipated Connection Recovery, a feature that gives a fighting chance to those disconnected players to rejoin the session. And if the attempt is unsuccessful, the progress is kept, as well as the player's Fireteam. If the player can reconnect, he shall respawn back into the match like nothing happened. Other changes that does not appear in Patch 1.2.0 are PVP enhancements, Iron Banner, and Towers.

Destiny is a first-person shooter developed by Bungie and is published by Activision. The game differentiates itself from most shooters for having a shared-world environment. The game was released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The Trial of Osiris is catered towards players that are highly competitive. The House of Wolves update will be out on May 19th.
