The Witcher 3 may be overblowing just how much nudity there is inside the game

Nude characters rendered in high definition are probably not the biggest reasons people are excited about The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, but those expecting it to be a significant part of the game may be disappointed.

Nudity within the game has already been censored for copies set to be released in regions where such practices are frowned upon such as in the Middle East, but it looks as though even the uncensored versions are not that revealing.

According to Gearnuke (NSFW link), the game's developers have been careful in deploying the nudity so as not to detract the players' attention from the other more essential elements of the title. Some screenshots of Yennefer, one of the main female characters in the game, which depict her as nude in the uncensored version are not all that much different from the censored pictures, although the censorship does somewhat muddle the events in the particular scene.

Nudity is indeed an element the game utilizes, but most of it looks like it appears within the opening of the game itself. While the nudity in the game is not abundant, it is still used as a storytelling element of sorts, so for those who want to get the most out of the game, the uncensored copy may be more capable of delivering what they expect.

An uncensored copy of the game can actually be obtained even in regions where only the censored copies are sold. According to Gameranx, fans can go to GOGcom to buy a code which will then get them the uncensored copy they are looking for.

In related news, CD Projekt Red has already said that they are responding to the poor frame rate reviews the game has received from critics thus far. According to Gamespot, The Witcher 3's day one update will address the frame rate issue.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will be officially released on May 19.
