Chicago Fire concludes another chapter as the season three finale has aired last May 12. This will be another long and painful wait for fans since a cliff-hanger was left in the NBC series' final moments. Nonetheless, there are suggestions that crossovers with shows like Chicago PD will help to give hints on certain questions and even what's to come next.
Now that Chicago Fire has dowsed its flames, the time slot on NBC has been occupied by the Neil Patrick Harris variety show launch. This somehow worries viewers when the fire fighting will premiere its 4th season, which will be likely be by November.
In terms of getting some clues from Chicago PD, it is probably to learn more about Roman and Brett on the show, as reported in CarterMatt. Moreover, the suspense on Dawson's side of the story might be leaked in the said series as well. The same site notes that this is very likely considering the long period before Chicago Fire resumes.
As for the number of episodes, there are doubts as to whether 22 could still be reached despite a late premiere. On the contrary, the first and third seasons were able to deliver 24 and 23 episodes, respectively. So it is manageable to reach the "minimum full" number of episodes for Chicago Fire, one way or another.
Matt Olmstead, series EP, talks to The Hollywood Reporter about the new theme for the upcoming season. He says, "There are shifts within the firehouse that you're going to see... in terms of personnel and people having some new roles within the firehouse - within their personal lives." He also adds that the characters will be coming out of their comfort zones, which should not really be a shocker for viewers.
Arrival of new cast members is another thing happening to Chicago Fire, as mentioned in LatinPost. The EP says, "We're excited about bringing in a new candidate to the firehouse." The interview points out that only one character is going to be searched for at the moment, but with the span of time to go by - who knows?
