A whole lot of DLCs are going to be coming Mortal Kombat X players' way in the coming days.
Currently available now is the Kold War skin pack which brings Motherland Sonya Blade, Revolution Kano and Tundra Sub-Zero sporting Russian-themed military outfits. Videos online show exactly what players will get with the US$3.99 Kold War skin pack. It is not included in the season pass.
The next one coming up is the Predator and Prey DLC pack which will feature the extraterrestrial Predator, Infared Scorpion, Commando Johnny, and George Dillon -- from the original Predator movie -- as Jax. It could be recalled that Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th film franchise made it into the Mortal Kombat X character line-up earlier this month. Jason was well-received by fans, especially with the game being faithful to his rendition and for adding his signature machete. The Predator is expected to get a similar reaction from those who will get the Predator and Prey pack on 24 May.
Last 19 May, Ed Boon announced via his Twitter account that yet another pack, the Brazil Costume pack, is coming soon. His post showed a picture of Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, and Kung Lao wearing the Brazilian football team's colors. There is no additional information regarding the release date or price, but it might be released after the Predator and Prey pack.
Mortal Kombat X is set to release the following packs as well:
- Samurai Pack: Samurai Shinnok, Ronin Kenshi, and Jingu Kitana
- Ultimate Horror Pack: Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile, and Pharaoh Ermac
- Klassic Pack #1: Klassic Sonya, Klassic Liu Kang, and Klassic Kano
- Klassic Pack #2: Klassic Jax, Klassic Kung Lao, and Klassic Quan Chi
The Edenian warrior Tanya is going to be included in the Klassic Pack 2 release.
The Kombat Pack season pass, which unlocks four new characters and all the DLC mentioned in this article except the Kold War skin pack, is still available for die-hard fans.
Mortal Kombat X, developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive, was released April 2015 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. It is scheduled to be ported over to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 either on Q2 or Q3 2015.
