The upcoming Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is hitting the stores worldwide, starting with a physical release in Japan on 18 June, complete with a standard edition and a limited edition set. Both North America and Europe get a digital release on 23 and 24 June, respectively.
The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows for all regions. In Japan, the limited edition set of the Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition comes in a pizza box, modeled after the one that Dante, Trish and Lady would usually have in their office. DMC fans know Dante is an avid pizza lover.
Aside from that, included in the JPN ¥7,398 limited edition set of the Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition are the sountrack CD, an 85-page full-color production notebook, three extra game covers, a costume code each for Lady and Trish, and 300,000 red orbs. The actual contents of the package could be seen here.
To welcome the arrival of the Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition in North America and Europe, trailers were released showing Dante's basic move set, as well as Lady and Trish's move set. A list which details game achievements were seen last week also. The digital download costs US$24.99 in North America and GBP£19.99 / €24.99 in Europe.
The new DMC4 allows players to use Vergil, Lady, and Trish as playable characters with their own stories and scenarios. Vergil will use three weapons: Yamato, the Beowulf gauntlets, and the Force Edge. He also has Concentration which makes his attacks more powerful. Vergil is available in all game missions.
Meanwhile, human demon hunter Lady uses the Kalina-Ann long-range weapon and is available in DMC4 main protagonist Nero's missions. Humanoid demon and lightning user Trish has her Sparda sword and is available in Dante's missions.
Pandora, Lucifer, Ebony & Ivory, Sword of Sparda, and Coyote-A remain part of Dante's arsenal. Pizza box or not, the upcoming Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is expected to be a hit among fans, and might even get new ones with its expanded game play.
