‘Half Life 3’ Release Date to Be Announced at the 2015 E3 Event?

By

Valve Corporation, the company behind "Half Life," one of the greatest video games of all time, may be announcing the release of the video game's much-awaited sequel at the 2015 E3 event. The company has kept mum about updates and progress on "Half Life 3," but the recent update on "Steam" revealed what seemed to be the video game's logo.

It has been over a decade since "Half Life 2" hit the markets and a sequel to the game has been highly anticipated given its worldwide success and add to that the fact that the game ends with a cliffhanger. There were allegations that "Half Life 3" will never come to light anytime soon following Valve co-founder Gabe Newell's statements that a "Half Life" sequel will never be made.

"The only reason we'd go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why they did," Newell said.

While Newell's recent statements may have been bad news for most video gamers who have been anxiously waiting to get their hands on "Half Life 3," the company seemed to have accidentally revealed the sequel's logo in a recent "Steam" update.

According to Motoring Crunch, Valve's recent update on "Steam" showed the addition of "App 323900," which featured the logo of "Half Life 3." While it is not entirely sure if Valve accidentally leaked details of "Half Life 3" or if they intentionally shared that with the public to heighten the fans' excitement once again, video gamers immediately speculated that the company will announce exciting details about the sequel during the 2015 E3 event.

Valve is the developer behind "Steam" and "Half Life" and will be attending the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo aka E3 on June 16-18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
